~A reply to his sorrow~
Planet earth, Morioh city, 1999, spring. The sun shone brightly in the clear blue sky , the fluffy, candid white clouds adorning it making it look like an impressionistic painting. A relaxing view, a flawless landscape that conveyed peace to anyone that was actually there to admire its breathtaking beauty. An exaggeration one would dare to say since it was just a city we were talking about, yet outsiders were able to grasp what others that were used to it couldn't. The outsider who was now admiring this show of soft and warm colors was pretty peculiar, definitely not an everyday encounter.
Soft silverish locks releasing a scent of red roses, glowing magenta eyes staring around meticulously and intensely, stripes of reddish velvety silk dancing while being caressed by the gentle breeze, a solitary wing tinted in pure whiteness with its feathers shimmering under the blinding light of the biggest star of the solar system, well this figure was here in Morioh.
This being in question was a girl with otherworldly features, surely the fact she owned a single wing was definitely not something normal for any human of this planet. Her appearance made it look like she was a sort of angel fallen from heaven that broke one of her wing during the fall. Was she an angel? From the void in her eyes it didn't seem she was a being from heaven so maybe a fallen angel, aka a demon? Well all of these assumptions were partly wrong, she was no angel nor demon, she was an otherworldly being, a lunarian to be exact.
Lunarians are the inhabitants of a dimension strictly connected to the moon, just like the world of the youkais is connected to planet earth. Well this pretty doll was now in Morioh without a specific goal in mind, she didn't even plan the city where she wanted to spend her permanence on, everything was definitely pretty random. Was destiny shaping everything like an artist? Was it really a coincidence that this superior deity was now in this city where strange phenomena were occurring?
Needless to be said that she didn't really care, a person like her who barely spoke due to her power of reversing situations through her words couldn't possibly express her opinion on the matter. It was so hard to keep at bay such a power when all you say can be either the greatest weapon but also a double edged sword.
Being always careful to not say the wrong thing she closed up to others becoming a silent doll that parts her lips to speak only when needed.
Surely that power of her was now sealed since she was in another realm but the fact she kept everything inside was pretty much still valid, she couldn't just start talking too much out of nowhere, she wasn't used to it after centuries of forced partial silence.
Now strolling around the streets Sagume was observing humans' daily life, they were pretty much organized like her kin yet they still lacked their advanced technology. A slight frown formed on her features, how could they live with such ancient devices and methods? She was starting to feel pity for them, yet somehow she praised their abilities of survival, no lunarian could live like that.
Their houses also seemed pretty simple, yet they held a beauty she could fully appreciate. Sometimes simple things were the most beautiful and interesting since one could grasp any single little particular, something that wasn't absolutely possible while observing something extremely crafty.
A small deaf sigh escaped her lips as she noticed a man parking a car in front of an habitation. He was dressed in white and looked very tall and handsome. This man immediately rushed inside the house, why was he in such a hurry? That made Sagume get curious about what was actually happening since the peaceful air was filling with tension.
Entering the house what she saw was not pleasant, it seemed that a human got hurt. A boy had just healed him yet his soul was escaping his body. It was the first time she witnessed such a pure soul, it was whitish meaning he was a kind hearted man with righteous moral principles. The boy instead was screaming at the corpse, it was obvious he wasn't accepting that he was gone.
The scene was heartbreaking, even a composed and stoic deity like her was accusing heartache as she clutched her chest in a desperate attempt to calm the pain. Closing one eye she felt something wet on her cheek, what was that? A tear was rolling down her cheek, the first tear shed in her long immortal life, why was she crying?
She had no idea of the reason but she felt the urge to get closer to him, she wasn't accustomed to speaking nor consoling someone yet she had to do something or else the aching wouldn't have ceased.
Slowly making her way to the boy with the pompadour hairstyle she knelt down right next to him. Her expression was unreadable, her eyes were just conveying calmness even if inside she was grieving for his misfortune.
"I'm sorry…"
Those words were spoken in a soft melodic voice, even Sagume had forgotten what her voice sounded like. Said that she wrapped her arms around his waist hugging him gently, somehow that gesture humans usually loved made her heart ache less. Why?
