>Avdol and Maeve {oc}<
Egypt; one of the hottest places on Earth.
This day, especially, was meant to be one of the hottest days of the year.
Of course, it was earlier in the morning when Maeve had awoken, quickly getting dressed and rushing to the house nearest to hers, walking in and rushing to a certain bedroom. Inside, a large male would be sleeping, and she gently shook his arm in hopes that he'd soon be awake. "Avdol-san, wake up! Mama made breakfast so we could eat before going to fetch water!"
That was their daily routine; Her mother would wake up and make breakfast for the "family",which had become a family due to Mother taking Avdol in when he was young after his parents were deceased, Maeve would fetch Avdol so they could eat together, then her and the male would go off to do chores. After those chores, she always followed Avdol wherever he went to learn about everything he knew.
He was her Teacher, but she thought of him as a father. She'd been by his side since the day she was brought into the world, and she cherished him more than anything.
"Avdoooool! Come on, wake up-"

Ōku Nomoji
Ōku Nomoji The large male sighed as he sat upright from the mattress on the bedroom floor, stirring and touching his head lightly. It seemed that today was going to be another interesting day, that much was for definite.
Turning his attention towards the sky, he noticed the soft, subtle hints of daybreak over the sandy lands that stretched as far as the eye could see, as well as the ancient tombs and monuments of the great land of Egypt.
Egypt, his home, and the land of his own forefathers before him, was a very hot land; it was necessary to gather all of the water as possible during the day, avoid going outside when it got too cold to move around. Luckily, being near the Nile made it a lot easier in all regards; water was in close supply, and the heat waves from the river itself, helped to keep things a tad bit warmer.
Donning his fortune telling robes, the Teacher placed a hand on Maeve's head, placing a finger to his lips. "The day is still young, Maeve. Now, let us begin with the day's telling."
Pulling out his tarot deck, he held them out towards the girl, a soft smile crossing his features.

Riley Sterling She smiled when he finally awoke, already sitting on the floor and waiting patiently. She, too, looked outside and smiled as they gazed over their homeland.
She smiled softly when he placed his hand above her head, closing her eyes and nodding after looking up at him. "That's true.. Much too young."
She nodded yet again, reaching out to pick a card before flipping it, letting him look. And she stared at him, always enjoying to see his smile.

Ōku Nomoji
Ōku Nomoji Avdol waited for the other to flip her card, viewing her face as she enjoyed and relished in the sun's very glance. It seemed that she was always joyful when she was outside; that was a wonderful thing. After all, a big part of being a fortune teller was being one with nature, being one with the soul that created who they were.
It was when she passed him her card that he seemed to grow somewhat pale in the face. He already knew without flipping it that it wasn't something that was positive... after all... just looking at the card gave him a menacing feeling in the pit of his stomach.
Giving a quiet cough, ignoring the cold sweat that seemed to roll down his back, he was hesitant to summon the card from her.

Riley Sterling She however knew him far too well to know that something was amiss, and she looked between him and the card. It seemed that said card was what had made him look so distressed, and she frowned softly as she glanced up at him.
"Avdol-san... Is... Is it a bad card...?" She frowned slightly, eyes wide from nervousness. They had never pulled a bad card from the deck; it has always been positive.

Ōku Nomoji
Ōku Nomoji He looked down at the card that was still wrapped in his hand. How could he tell her about this? It was even more stressful than the Tarot Card of Death.
He sighed softly, shaking his head slightly. "I would rather not speak of it," he stated, his eyes flashing. Could this possibly be because of the rumor that he had heard, because of the man that he had decided to ally himself too? Did all of this happen due to Avdol's need to do something proper? Save everyone around him? Was he going to drag their family down with him?
Avdol turned his gaze towards the other again, another sigh escaping his lips. "We need to talk."

Riley Sterling She knew it must have been bad. His body language, which she understood more than any other who knew
him, gave it away. Tense shoulders, furrowed brows, and his lips slightly twitched down indicated his distressed mood.
"Talk...? About what, Avdol-San?"
